Top Drawer London 2020 – My Top Colour Picks

Hello colour lover!

One of the great delights of my work, is being able to be a panellist, commentator or curator for various colour events and this month I was really thrilled to be asked by Top Drawer London to compiled my Top 20 Colour picks for the Autumn/Winter 2020 season.

Top Drawer London is an annual trade show for buyers and retailers from around the world to come ‘shop’ from makers, creators and artists. My top picks come from both established and up and coming creatives and designers who are displaying their products at this year’s Top Drawer London trade show.

Of course the tradeshow was meant to be in person, and I was super excited that I was going to be doing a colour trail which would take the event visitor to see each exhibitor I had picked out for their great use of colour. Hopefully we’ll get to do that next year, however we know we had to move it online this year, so instead I put together this collection of my Top 20 favourites.

This is a trade show but I thought I’d give you a sneak peek into what you could be seeing in your local gift stores or online soon. Maybe even in time for a Christmas gift for a special someone.

One of the delightful things for me this year was to see the distinct lack of grey used and in its place, seeing so many designers, makers and creatives really embracing more harmonious colour palettes.

I was particularly impressed by the clever composition, the functional yet beautiful design and there are a few really fun items in there too. Overall I was delighted to see colour being used in a thoughtful, considered way.

This is a wonderful reflection of how much we are advancing with the use of colour. Colour is back and it’s here to stay!
