The Little Book of Colour launch celebration!

I can’t believe this time last week I was at my book launch held at the stylish Minotti London showroom with 100 invited guests made up of clients, colleagues, my colour & design students, friends and colour lovers from across the UK and abroad.
Let the Celebrations begin!
After receiving a welcome glass of fizz, the guests settled in to listen to an ‘in conversation’ style discussion with Dulux Creative Director, the one and only Marianne and myself. Well, Marianne had everyone in stitches from the start. She set the tone for a very entertaining and informative discussion.
Here are just a few words I wanted to share with you that Marianne mentioned in her introduction which really touched my heart.
“Karen’s an extraordinary unicorn of a human being. It’s not often you meet people who have creativity and combine it was an analytical approach and a research approach. She knows the power of colour. She puts the human being at the centre of the colour journey. I start with a sofa and I build the colour scheme around that, Karen starts with the person who owns the sofa and builds the colour experience around them. This is a step change revolution in colour – the way it makes us feel and the power to change things for good and this girl knows all about it.”
Well, when Marianne said this my eyes may have started to leak, just a bit. Such incredible high praise from a lady who I admire greatly and I am honoured to call my friend.

After the discussion, out came the colour canapes, the bubbles flowed and for me a new experience that I absolutely loved – book signing. I loved writing a personal message inside every book and sending it out into the world, along with a colourful bookmark featuring the artwork of book cover designer Roanna Wells.

A big heartfelt thank you to Minotti London. I could not have done this without them. They were amazing in helping me organise the event.
Also a huge thanks to Marianne Shillingford, a wonderfully generous, kind and of so funny human being.
The amazingly talented Roanna Wells (Sheffield based)who when I suggested she come down to be part of the evening ‘oh yes!’
Thank you to the wonderful guests who sent me their photos capturing a wonderful evening I’ll never forget @positivelyslim @homemilk @villageblindslondon @vix__carroll @tamsinfd
Wishing you a colourful day!
